The first artwork in my new “FRAGILE” Series and my first reproduction in several years. “The Day The Ocean Freed Itself From Man” has been shared on large platforms throughout the world, including Vogue. I am super proud of this piece, as I put forth an idea I had been working on for several years. This piece is based on my own personal experiences diving in our beautiful oceans, and encountering some of the most incredible animals on our planet. But I am most proud of the way I delivered a very powerful story in a way that has resonated with so many viewers.
Editions and sizes:
12x16 inches A fantastic amount of detail is visible in this smaller sized print. This print is shipped in a 16x20 inch box.
18x24 inches This print size is a great option. It gives really stunning color and detail and has a great aura about it. The canvas feel with the wide mirrored sides are absolutely incredible. This print is shipped in a flat box.
22x30 inches “Collector’s Edition” A very limited edition of ONLY 50 prints will ever be reproduced. This is a great size for almost any wall, and the small details of the animals are shown beautifully. You get a real sense of the importance of the size of the piece as it boldly shows the magnificence of these animals and the story they are sharing. Imagine the conversations you will have with friends and family standing in front of this piece! This print is shipped in a flat box.
30x40 inches “Collector’s Gold Edition” This is as rare as is gets. A very limited edition of ONLY 10 prints will ever be reproduced. This is the size of my actual original, as well. I have hand embellished these prints, using different materials to give it a look and feel similar to an original work of art. This is as close as you can get to the Original, without buying the Original. The details within this piece are stunning, and a true conversation piece. It is bold and beautiful, keeping your eye wandering through the imagery for hours on end. This print is shipped in a flat box.
**No matter how hard an Artist tries, a reproduction can never take the place of a true Original Artwork. The Original has everything the Artist intended including color and texture, along with all that aura that belongs to the Original. However, if you cannot afford the Original Artwork, a reproduction is the next best thing!
VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
The Story: My endeavor was to take our most beloved and successful Whale, the Humpback, and have her as the centerpiece. Her massive and powerful pectoral fins have become useless. Her young calf looks at her worriedly, but grabs a line and tries to help bring her Mother to the surface. Next to her, the almighty Orcas come together using their power to bring her towards the surface to breathe. The deep diving Sperm Whales use their prized asset, their spermaceti filled heads, to slowly push 50,000 pounds towards the surface. All the other animals have rallied together to do their part to set this Humpback Mother free.
I created a complex scene from a simple story in order to create an abundance of surprises for the viewer. I chose to do the fish in metal leafing, as this would get an amazing array of reflecting colors. I wanted to create an abstract sense of their existence, contrasting the details of the other animals. The lack of fish in the top half of the artwork is symbolic of overfishing, as the lower half of the artwork is teaming with schools of fish. The triangular shape around the eye of the Humpback Mother represents the pyramid on the back of a US Dollar, representing our greed. The fishing line ‘floats’ that the Orca calf has are symbolic of Orcas and Dolphins in captivity. I also wanted to create a type of a tiered waterfall appearance within the group of three Orcas, suggesting the trickling down effect our actions have with the Ocean. It starts up above the surface with us, then makes its way down deep into the ocean (the Orca calf casts a shadow onto her mother, and the mother casts a shadow onto the third Orca below her, which casts a shadow onto the Humpback Whale Mother).
This is the canvas reproduction of “The Day The Ocean Freed Itself From Man”. I have included several sizes for you to choose from, as I know everyone’s home and office is different. I worked very hard to bring you these editions, and I really think you are going to love it.
I include a Certificate of Authenticity with my Limited Edition prints (not included with the Unlimited Editions), which increase the value of the print in the short and long term.
I sign each print in the bottom left, and I number each Limited Edition (I do not number the Unlimited Edition prints).
Canvas is so important to a successful print edition! Therefore, each canvas print is reproduced on true professional exhibition quality canvas coated with a UV/water protectant satin finish! Though this paper has the slightest warm tone to it in comparison to my canvas print offerings. These canvas prints are stretched on heavy duty thick 1.5” stretcher bars. Basis weight: 395 gsm Paper thickness: 23 mil
Each reproduction is printed by a professional printing company based in Asheville, NC USA where I work very closely with the printer.

*Color representation in a computer screen versus real life reproductions is a variable we try to overcome. Please keep in mind computer screens are backlit with light, enhancing all colors in comparison to printed material. I have gone to great lengths to ensure my prints represent the Original Artwork as best as humanly possible.
SHIPPING:
Domestic (USA): I ship via USPS. I use Fedex where it makes sense on the larger artworks and prints. Covid-19 has really affected shipping time frames, unfortunately. You will be emailed a tracking number once the order ships.
Canada: I use USPS to ship to Canada. I cannot guarantee a time frame due to Covid-19, but its seems as though orders are received within 14 business days. Other shipping methods are optional, so please contact me if you need different shipping options at AjaxAtlasArt@gmail.com
Mexico: I ship to Mexico, if it is more established areas. Shipping times could be a couple of weeks in major city areas, to a couple months in more remote areas.
UK/Europe/Ireland: I CAN ship to these areas, but please contact me first for shipping rates at AjaxAtlasArt@gmail.com.

Due to the nature of my business and my delicate products and prints, all sales are final. Please be sure you like your product before placing an order. I guarantee the quality of my products and prints, and have gone to great lengths to ensure top quality. We will exchange emails to find an appropriate action and/or claim with the shipping company. I do not offer refunds in such a case, but if deemed necessary, I will absolutely send you a replacement.
